Receiving Wholeness From Multiple Sources
A Global New Moon Circle for Sivan
Rabbi Sass will be the guest facilitator at the At The Well Global New Moon Circle for Sivan, the month of receiving and revelation.
We receive pieces of our spiritual self from many sources - culture and ancestors, revelation and ritual, the languages we know, and the people who have shaped us. The sources that water our tree become greater when they are realized in us. Join us as we enter Sivan, the month of Receiving, with an evening of embodied practice that invites us to consider the many sources flowing into us, honoring each individually while also feeling whole.
This program is an affinity space for women and nonbinary people who choose to join, 18+, of all identities, backgrounds, and spiritual traditions. That means JOCs and Ally Circle members are welcome. At The Well has a special note for nonbinary folks here.
Shavuot Ice Cream and DrinksRosh Chodesh Sivan marks the beginning of the Hebrew month of Sivan - a month of revelation and receiving the Torah, which we celebrate during Shavuot. Join other JOC young professionals and Ammud Ambassador Rabbi Kelly Whitehead for some ice cream, hanging out, and Torah learning. Ice cream's on us!
After the learning, participants are invited to continue socializing over dinner or drinks at Aslin Brewery down the block. Rabbi Kelly will stay for a while to keep schmoozing and your first drink is also on us.
RSVP is kindly requested and exact meeting location will be shared upon registering.
This partnership program with the EDCJCC is an affinity space for Jews of Color and their guests, ages 21-44 years old. Questions? Contact Sonya Weisburd at sweisburd@edcjcc.org

Bekhol Et Uvekhol Sha’ah: Learning Ammud Torah on Your TimeSign up here to receive a 1-2 page learning guide from the weekly Torah portion, sent right to your inbox, so you can study Ammud Torah at any hour, on your time. Weekly emails begin Sunday, May 24th.
When do we pray? Exploring talmudic Prayer Times with a Crip LensThe very first page of Mishna in Tractate Berakhot asks the question: “from when do we say the evening Shema?” Our ancestors then offer a variety of viewpoints based on their own wisdom and prior rulings, but did any of them take Crip Time (the theory that time acts differently on disabled body-minds) into account? This teaching, led by educator Ari Fernandez, will apply a Critical Disability Theory lens to ancient wisdom from the Talmud.
JOC Hevruta Interest FormTorah is traditionally studied with a learning partner, a hevruta. Just as we are encouraged to consider Torah from many angles, we can invite another perspective into our learning by studying together. Some of the most praised hevruta teams among the ancient rabbis were known for bringing vastly different lived experiences and expertise to Torah text. Together, a hevruta pair can learn more about the texts, each other, and even themselves through open discussion.
JOC members looking to study Torah with a hevruta can fill out this interest form, and we will work to match you with someone who shares similar study goals.
