Other Services to Anderson Mill
Residents
After hour water services to
residents - It is the residents responsibility to have their
homeowner water cutoff valve accessible and operable, in which case the
resident could turn off the water until repair on a leak can be made. If
any resident has a problem with water service that requires action, such
as a water turnoff due to a leak, and are unable to locate their
homeowner cutoff valve, they can call our Water Department
(512-258-0977) and have the operator come out to turn off the water at
the meter. The district is responsible for lines from the water main to
the meter, all pipes and valves beyond the meter are the responsibility
of the homeowner.
Sewer backup and clean out
policy - If a resident has a sewer
backup, and their cleanout is exposed, remove the cleanout cap, if
water is in the line at the cleanout,
this will allow any overflow to occur
at the cleanout and can relieve the possibility of backup into the
house temporarily. If the cleanout is not accessible it is
the responsibility of the homeowner to locate it. Once the cleanout is located
and accessible, the resident can call the Wastewater
Department (512-258-0977) and have an operator come out and auger through
the yard line (from the cleanout to the street) to determine if the problem
is in the yard line, which is the residents responsibility to repair, or if
the blockage is at the tap, in which case the district will schedule
permanent repairs to correct the problem. |
